The Las Vegas Raiders are locking up their stars to long-term deals, proving they are not messing around as they enter a new era of football.

It has been an incredible offseason for the Las Vegas Raiders, as new general manager David Ziegler has come in and changed the narrative surrounding the franchise. He has spent big money on free agents, made some high-level trades, and overall, has turned this roster into a legitimate contender.

Now, after bringing in some new faces to the franchise, he has been making sure to lock up some of the returning stars to long-term deals. Derek Carr and Maxx Crosby inked new deals earlier in the offseason, and this past week, it was Hunter Renfrow who found himself with more job security, as well as tens of millions of dollars richer.

The move to lock up those three players, and hopefully Darren Waller soon, is proof that this is not business as usual for the Silver and Black. Ziegler and his staff are not messing around, as they took over a franchise that made it to the playoffs this past season, and did so despite numerous issues on and off the field.

For Raiders fans, this has to be a breath of fresh air.

Raiders locking up star players for the long-term

With Carr, Crosby, and Renfrow getting new deals, and the additions of Davante Adams and Chandler Jones, it is clear that Ziegler and company are setting the Raiders up for success in the long-term, as well as in 2022. There is no doubt that they see the talent they already have on this roster, and if they are going to be competitive in the toughest division in football, they need to make sure their stars are set.

Overall, this roster is better than it has been in years, and they are locking up the players who helped get them to the playoffs last season. Times are changing when it comes to this Raiders franchise, and the fan base could be headed towards strong returns for the foreseeable future.
