Throwing the ball 40 or 50 times a game and 600 times a season can be exhausting on any quarterback’s arms. Therefore the quarterback will run out of juice quickly. Using a running back by committee approach will cut down on Carr’s fatigue.

Also, Carr will not have to drop back as much risking being flushed from the pocket, being sacked, or throwing an incomplete pass or interception. All he has to do is turn around and hand it off to a talented running back letting them do the rest.

Let’s face it, the game has changed over the years. Teams are opening up the playbook to pass-oriented offenses. There are very few, if any, workhorse running backs who carry 30 times per game in the league today. For the few that are remaining, they do not typically last long in the league due to the number of hits they take. As a result, they wear down easily and risk serious injury. This is why teams are reluctant to take a running back in the first round of the draft.

A running back by committee will help the running backs have more longevity in the league cutting down on risks of injuries.
