Raiders: Josh McDaniels has a tremendous Coach of the Year opportunity
Carr and the Opportunity
Derek Carr has already praised the system of McDaniels and has stated that the former Patriots coordinator likes to “play fast”, and although adjustments will be needed to adapt to his system, the success should come early with such a deep roster of talent.
The Raiders are entering this season as a dark horse playoff contender, at least according to the odds, and the Chargers and Broncos are getting discussed as much bigger potential threats to the Chiefs’ reign of supremacy in the division. With the Raiders routinely being overlooked, this is what gives McDaniels the biggest opportunity to quell these doubts, and gives him a tremendous opportunity to become this season’s head coach of the year.
Only time will tell if McDaniels is the answer for this franchise, but with such a loaded roster at his disposal; the Las Vegas Raiders might finally have the opportunity to be in the discussion as a true contender in the loaded AFC division. And if McDaniels can raise this franchise to these expectations, he truly will deserve some head coach of the year consideration.
