Trayvon Mullen
Trayvon Mullen missed much of last season with a toe injury and the Raiders clearly struggled to replace him with Desmond Trufant and Brandon Facyson. Mullen showed flashes of becoming an above-average corner due to his speed and length but injuries have continued to derail Mullen, even missing minicamp.
Mullen is the favorite to start opposite Rock Ya-Sin but the team did bring in Anthony Averett as insurance. Starting cornerbacks tend to be expensive in free agency and if the Raiders are comfortable with Mullen’s health, it would be wise to give him an extension sooner rather than later, with his value so low.
Mullen looked to be on his way to a breakout season in 2021 before his injuries and he could take a massive step forward under Graham. The decision to extend Mullen could depend on if the Raiders prioritize an extension with Ya-Sin first. In all likelihood, Mullen will play out his deal and if he plays well, could price himself out of Las Vegas.
Mullen has the skill set to finally break out and be a big-time player.
