Las Vegas Raiders 53-man roster prediction entering 2022 training camp

Safety (5): Tre’Von Moehrig, Johnathan Abram, Duron Harmon, Tyree Gillespie, Dallin Leavitt

The Las Vegas Raiders added two quality defensive backs in the 2021 NFL Draft, the aforementioned Nate Hobbs, and TCU safety Tre’Von Moehrig. Las Vegas traded up in the second round to get Moehrig, and he was as good as advertised, showing All-Pro capabilities in Year 1 at the NFL level.

He will start, as will 2019 first-round pick Johnathan Abram, though all eyes are going to be on him after three sub-par seasons with the team. He was hurt for nearly all of his rookie season but has struggled with consistency in both 2020 and 2021, so do not be surprised if Tyree Gillespie or Duron Harmon take his job at some point this season.

Finally, I am no longer making 53-man roster predictions without putting Dallin Leavitt on the roster, as he continues to defy the odds and make the Week 1 roster. He is here and should be a key special teams guy in 2022, but if he is cut, it would not be shocking either.
