The Defense
The Broncos defense has been its biggest strength the last several years ever since General Manager George Payton took over the job from legendary Broncos Quarterback John Elway, especially these past few seasons under former Head Coach Vic Fangio. There wasn’t many chanbecausedefense becauce there didn’t need to be many changes.
Yes, they did lose Shelby Harris, who has been a very solid inside defensive lineman for the Broncos, but they brought in former Dallas Cowboy Randy Gregory, signing him to a five year $70 million this offseason after the Cowboys tried to include language in the contract that neither Gregory or his agents agreed with.
After struggling with some personal stuff to start off his career, Gregory has really turned his career around after only one career sack in his first two years, he has 15.5 combined the last three including six last season.
They also brought in K’Waun Williams to replace Bryce Callahan after letting him go in free agency. Williams has spent the last five seasons in San Francisco where he played in 14 games starting eight of them only getting one interception on the season and 40 solo tackles.
