The Las Vegas Raiders have arguably the best tight end in the NFL in Darren Waller, who will benefit big time from Josh McDaniels as his head coach.

When it comes to the Las Vegas Raiders franchise, there are few players more beloved than tight end Darren Waller. Ever since he was signed off the Baltimore Ravens practice squad years ago, Waller has become one of the elite tight ends in the NFL, and he is an even better person than he is a football player.

Now, entering his fourth full season with the Raiders franchise, Waller is ready to take his game to new heights, and that should be possible thanks to his new head coach. Josh McDaniels will be making his Raiders debut this season, this after many successful seasons in New England, and is hoping for more success in his second stint as an NFL head coach.

Back in 2009, a then-33-year-old McDaniels was given the keys to the Denver Broncos franchise, and to say he struggled would be an understatement. Years later, he is back in the AFC West with the Silver and Black and has the kind of weapons he needs to make this a much more successful run at the helm of a franchise.

To succeed, he needs every bit of Darren Waller.

Raiders new HC loves to utilize the tight end position

The 2021 season was a down one per Waller’s standards, as he struggled with injuries for most of the second half. Now healthy, Waller is expected to go back to being a 100-catch threat, and in McDaniels’s offense, he is going to be even more of a focal point than he has been already in Las Vegas.

There is a lot to like about what McDaniels is going to bring to the table as a head coach, and the Raiders jobs is a perfect one for him in his second go-around as a head coach at the NFL level. This is a playoff-ready team, and Waller is poised to have his best statistical season as a pro in 2022.
