Las Vegas Raiders 2022 opponent offseason review: Houston Texans

2022 NFL Draft and Overview

The Houston Texans held two first-round picks this past April, and they got two very good players who are going to help them in a big way. Many felt that Derek Stingley Jr. was the best overall defensive back in the draft, and Kenyon Green was widely regarded as a premier interior offensive lineman.

Round 1 Pick 3 – Cornerback Derek Stingley Jr., LSU
Round 1 Pick 15 – Guard Kenyon Green, Texas A&M
Round 2 Pick 27– Safety Jalen Pitre, Baylor
Round 2 Pick 44 – Wide Receiver John Metchie III, Alabama
Round 3 Pick 75 – Linebacker Christian Harris, Alabama
Round 4 Pick 107 – Running Back Dameon Pierce, Florida
Round 5 Pick 150 – Defensive Tackle Thomas Booker, Stanford
Round 5 Pick 170 – Tight End Teagan Quitoriano, Oregon State
Round 6 Pick 205 – Offensive Tackle Austin Deculus, LSU

Overview

The Texans visit the Raiders in Las Vegas in Week 7 after the Raiders’ bye week. This is a game that the Raiders should win as Davis Mills is still a young quarterback and only helped lead the Texans to two wins in the eleven games he started last season.

The Raiders cannot underestimate the Texans though because as I mentioned at the top they did upset the Chargers late in the season and were close to beating another playoff team in the New England Patriots in week five last season.
