The AFC West is going to be loaded in 2022, as the Las Vegas Raiders, Chargers, Chiefs, and Broncos all have top-10 quarterbacks.

It has been a very active offseason for the AFC West, as the Raiders, Chargers, Chiefs, and Broncos made some huge moves in terms of their roster. Last season, the division was once again won by the Kansas City Chiefs, with the Raiders also joining them in the playoffs as a Wild Card team.

For the Chargers, their season ended in Week 18 with a loss to the Raiders, and for the Broncos, their season was a disaster. A lot of the issues when it came to Denver had to do with the quarterback spot, an issue they fixed in a big way heading into the 2022 NFL season.

Now, four of the top-10 quarterback reside in the division, as Russell Wilson takes over for Drew Lock and Teddy Bridgewater at the helm of the Broncos. Yes, four of the top-10 quarterbacks are in the AFC West, which makes for what should be an exciting race for the division title this Fall.

Raiders Derek Carr is a top-10 QB entering the 2022 season

For many, Derek Carr is not a top-10 quarterback, as some believe he is an above-average signal-caller, but not the best of the best. However, one look at his statistics and it is clear he is better than nearly every quarterback in the league and has put up monster numbers without a true WR1 in recent seasons.

Now, armed with Davante Adams on the outside, Hunter Renfrow in the slot, and Darren Waller at tight end, he has the best assortment of weapons that he has had in his career. If all three do what they are supposed to in terms of production, Carr should eclipse the 5,000-yard mark for the first time in his career, and show the rest of the world why he is a top-10 quarterback.

For Carr, putting up statistics has never been the issue, as he holds nearly every passing record in team history. The issue has been wins and losses, but coming off a playoff season in 2021, and with a better roster and hopefully fewer distractions than last season, this could end up being his best season yet.
