A legitimate WR1

Throughout his career as the starting quarterback for the Raiders franchise, Derek Carr has seen his fair share of players come in and try to assume the WR1 role. As a rookie, Carr had a veteran to throw to in James Jones, and in Year 2, the combination of Michael Crabtree and Amari Cooper was one of the better duos in the NFL.

From Crabtree to Cooper, to Jordy Nelson, to Nelson Agholor, and most recently Henry Ruggs III, the Silver and Black have been trying to get Carr a legitimate WR1. Now, he has that weapon in Davante Adams, one of the best wide receivers in all of football, and someone he has a long history with.

The two were stars together at Fresno State, building a relationship that has lasted since they both entered the NFL in the 2014 NFL Draft. In fact, the two are the best of friends, so it will be interesting to see how this all translates between the white lines this season, a year where Carr could have his best campaign yet.
