As the Las Vegas Raiders kicked off training camp this week, quarterback Derek Carr took to the podium, and in his first press conference, he was done being the nice guy.

The Las Vegas Raiders are less than two weeks away from their first preseason game, as they will battle it out against Jacksonville in the Hall of Fame Game. As the Silver and Black prepare for that matchup, all eyes are going to be on whether or not the team did enough with the roster this offseason to get back to the playoffs.

One area of the roster that has not needed an upgrade in quite some time is the quarterback spot, as Derek Carr has been the starter for nearly a decade. The unquestioned leader of this franchise, Carr has been a target for the media due to his kind personality, but it seems a new DC has arrived in Henderson, Nevada this summer.

Basically, Carr let the ESPN reporter know that he did not like his tone, a new version of the ninth-year starter that has yet to be seen at his normal press conferences. This is a no-nonsense Carr that is looking to once again put this team on his shoulders, and when it comes to disrespect from the media, he is not having it.

Of course, Carr has to go out there and lead this team to victories, then all of the negative noise that has surrounded him during his career will go away. He proved in 2021 that he can lead this team to the playoffs despite so much anarchy going on around him, and in 2022, he appears focused to shut down
