Las Vegas Raiders 2022 training camp: 4 possible veteran cut candidates
Las Vegas Raiders 2022 training camp: 4 possible veteran cut candidates
Kendal Vickers
The preseason will provide a chance for Kendal Vickers to prove himself worthy of making the final roster, particularly if Las Vegas uses the same approach from last season where the starters did not play a single snap. But the third-year defensive end will need to display some noteworthy production during his preseason playing time. That especially rings true given the competition he will be up against.
Rookies Matthew Butler and Myron Tagovailoa-Amosa will be given ample opportunities to compete for a final roster spot. Based on their draft selections it’s clear that McDaniels and Ziegler are opting for defensive flexibility, in particular on the line of scrimmage.
Veteran or not, they’re opting for competition through training camp to see where the strengths and weaknesses lie.
Vickers has just 10 combined tackles and two sacks in his limited production for Las Vegas, and with a contested battle to round out the depth at defensive tackle, it could be Vickers that is the odd man out.
