Raider Nation waves goodbye as Denzelle Good announces his retirement. What’s the plan for Las Vegas Raiders moving forward?

As the Silver and Black grind their way through camp, they come face to face with a new problem: The team has a vacant spot at a guard position. This is because veteran offensive lineman Denzelle Good decided to hang up his cleats at 31-years-old, after not missing any practice time through the entirety of camp.

In 2020, while being accustomed to playing on the right side of the line, Good took to the left side to fill in for an injured Richie Incognito. With Incognito going down just two contests into the season, Good played the remainder of the year at left guard.

In 2021, with Incognito back, Good was able to return to the right side.. Or so he had thought. Before the season went underway, Incognito once again suffered a season ending injury, transitioning Good to the left guard position once more. This time, though, Good was unable to stay healthy himself.

In an opening-week contest against the Baltimore Ravens, the guard filling in for Incognito tore his ACL, effectively ending his season. Fast forward to this Monday, almost a full calendar year later, and Good has called it a career.

Just as there often is when a player retires seemingly out of nowhere, loads of speculation seems to run rampant on social media. The most probable scenario is Good didn’t heal the way he had thought he might, and decided to be safe instead of sorry.

With Good gone, Raider Nation finds themselves asking a nasty question: Who will take over for Denzelle Good on the offensive line? Let’s talk about the most likely scenarios.
