Las Vegas Raiders first 2022 depth chart is full of surprises
With the first preseason contest 2 days away, the Las Vegas Raiders announce their first depth chart. What stands out?
The Raiders are finishing up their last week of practice before heading to Canton to play the Jaguars in what will be the first scrimmage game of the 2022 NFL season. While Raider Nation waits in excitement, the Silver and Black went ahead and released the team’s first depth chart on Tuesday, seen below.

A good portion of the starting unit was predictable. On offense, Derek Carr will be the team’s starting quarterback, with Jacobs as the RB1, and Davante Adams plus Hunter Renfrow being the Raiders’ no.1 and no.2 receivers. Of course, Pro Bowler Darren Waller is also the starting tight end.
On defense, most of the starting unit is equally as predictable. All Pro’s Maxx Crosby and Chandler Jones are the starting edge rushers, ’21 Pro Bowler Denzel Perryman and newcomer Jayon Brown are starting linebackers, and Rock Ya-Sin, Nate Hobbs and second-year Raider Tre’von Moehrig headline the secondary.
While a noticeable percent of the first released depth chart was predictable, there are still plenty of surprises. These are the things we’ll be focusing on today, as we break down 5 things that that stand out in the first official Raiders’ depth chart of 2022.
