Las Vegas Raiders: Veterans who need a good showing in Hall of Fame Game

Turning to the offensive side of the ball, the Raiders are still trying to figure out what their starting five will look like upfront along the offensive line. In 2021, the team made Alex Leatherwood their first-round pick, selecting the big offensive tackle from Alabama, but he struggled in Year 1 and had to be kicked inside to guard.

This summer, it is clear that he has no starting role as we enter the preseason slate, and one veteran that could be the team’s right tackle in Week 1 against Los Angeles is veteran Brandon Parker. Parker has been hit-or-miss since being drafted by the Raiders back in 2018, but he looks good this summer and may be ready to contribute in a big way in 2022.

The hope for everyone was that Leatherwood would find his groove this offseason, and step up in Year 2 much like Kolton Miller did back in 2019. However, based on early returns, this could be Parker’s spot to lose, and he will try to prove he should be the starter in his first test on Thursday night.
