Raiders: 3 rookies to keep an eye on during the HOF Game

Three rookies who have the Raiders’ full attention against Jacksonville.

Guard: Dylan Parham

Parham was drafted in the third round of the 2022 NFL Draft, being the offensive lineman the Raiders thought was a better player than any on the board.

Currently, the 22-year-old guard finds himself on the outside looking in when it comes to the starting offensive line. At right guard, Lester Cotton has virtually cemented his place as a starter -Although a poor preseason outing can change that – and John Simpson is currently the team’s left guard.

Parham is fighting to overtake Simpson on the left side.

The Raiders’ rookie offensive lineman has impressed his coaches up to this point. Las Vegas has thrown him everywhere on the offensive line, and he’s been able to adapt and hold his own.

Earlier in the week, Eric Allen interviewed Dylan Parham to talk about the Memphis lineman’s experience through camp and how he’s handling the transition to the NFL.

"“I get in my playbook a little bit just to make sure. If I know that I had a mental error on the field, I like to go watch that immediately just to make sure I have that corrected, so I have an understanding of what it is I need to do better.”"

“Make sure I try to take care of my body and my mental because it’s gonna be a long day”, Parham continued.

The battle for left guard is still on, and while Simpson won the job going into the first preseason game, Parham is breathing down his neck. The spot is wide open, and Parham will look to secure it through the preseason.
