Zamir White
Up next is rookie running back Zamir White.
White is buried in the running back rotation, behind Josh Jacobs, Kenyan Drake and Brandon Bolden. Jacobs will be the Raiders RB1 in ’22, Bolden will be the third-down back, and being Drake has everything McDaniels wants in his running backs, it’s hard to imagine the former Cardinal won’t be the first rotational back.
It will be hard for White to see time on the field this upcoming season, but the rookie did nothing but help his case on Thursday.
White took 11 carries for 52 yards, but his film is what really stood out. The Georgia alum showed a great combination of quickness, power and elusiveness, with a motor that doesn’t stop. There were often times in this contest where it looked as if White couldn’t be stopped.
Here’s Zamir flashing his skillset on the ground with his first carry as a Raider.

It wasn’t just the running game he played well in, either. Zeus looked great in the passing game, finding the hole on a screen play and weaving through defenders. Watch the rookie go.

It will still be hard for Zeus to take snaps from Jacobs, Drake and Bolden, but this was a great start for him. If he continues this, McDaniels may find it impossible to not throw White onto the field.
