As crazy as it sounds, the Las Vegas Raiders lack speed

Does an addition need to be made?

As they say, all good things must come to an end. It appears that the Raiders’ identity has changed. Much of this is likely due to the addition of new head coach Josh McDaniels. During his time in New England, he rarely ran an offense that chose to stretch the field unless he had elite speed in the form of Randy Moss and Brandin Cooks.

Regardless of who played receiver for McDaniels, from Wes Welker to Aaron Dobson, his offense can adapt regardless. Especially with the elite talent that the Vegas offense already possesses at the skill positions.

In 2022, the Raiders appear committed to this version of the offense around Derek Carr. With Adams, Renfrow, and Darren Waller as his main weapons, the offense has no excuse to be unfunctional, despite the lack of speed.

Even still, if the offense lacks some juice early on in the season, don’t be surprised if the team looks to inject some speed into the unit. As the old Raiders adage goes, speed kills and you can never have too much of it in the NFL.
