Las Vegas Raiders who really need to step up in 2022
No. 3: Josh Jacobs
You’ve got a long line behind you right now if you’re Josh Jacobs.
Kenyan Drake was already in the picture, but now you add Zamir White, Ameer Abdullah, and Austin Walter, as well as the former Patriot-McDaniels connection in Brandon Bolden to the mix while Jacobs has seen his yards, carries, and yards per attempt dramatically drop from his stellar rookie year.
I’m glad the Raiders got his passing targets up last season because one thing that has put him behind many of the premier backs in football has been his one-trick-pony style of being primarily a runner and not also a pass-catcher.
If Josh can keep improving in the passing game and breaking out of his shell, I think he has a very good chance to stick in Vegas. But with the depth behind him right now in what appears to be a loaded Josh McDaniels backfield, his number seriously looks to be up in this organization.
Josh needs himself a big-time year in 2022. I don’t think that’s particularly news to anybody.
