Las Vegas Raiders who could sneak onto the 2022 roster

DJ Turner

The 5’9, 185-pound DJ Turner has shown this preseason. Turner was essentially the Raiders’ backup slot receiver on the practice squad last season and came in to earn a roster spot this year.

Turner is small, but he is quick and runs solid routes. His showing against Minnesota is proof he can get open in NFL games. Turner has had better performances than Mack Hollins, Tyron Johnson, and Keelan Cole as well as Demarcus Robinson, hence his release.

Turner played five collegiate seasons and came in as a mature player and was given another year of development on the practice squad. He seems to be at least a lock for the practice squad but his special teams ability and supplementation of Demarcus Robinson may make him a challenger for a roster spot.

Turner has return experience and with no real backup for Hunter Renfrow, Turner could be an invaluable contributor this season.
