Potential cuts to watch for following Raiders final 2022 preseason win
Raiders Cut No. 2 – Keelan Cole
The wide receiver group is surprisingly deep for the Raiders this season. Everyone knew coming into the preseason that Davante Adams and Hunter Renfrow would be the top two pass catchers. The question was who would do enough to stand out and claim the backend slots of three through five? This is an educated guess, but judging from what we’ve seen, Keelan Cole might be on the way out.
With Robinson out, Mack Hollins developed a rapport with Carr and Co. On top of that, the speed of Tyron Johnson and DJ Turner can’t be done without. Cole himself can turn on the jets too. Unfortunately, it wasn’t enough. Despite an impressive preseason showing, it’s possible that the Raiders’ brass was using that as a ploy to garner trade interest for him, according to Bleacher Report’s Maurice Moton.
Another key for McDaniels was the versatility that Johnson and Turner bring to the table. While they won’t find too many opportunities sitting behind Adams and Renfrow, the duo can make an impact on special teams. The only way that Cole can sneak onto the roster is if McDaniels decides to take just a trio of tight ends into Week 1.
