Raiders: Wire targets Las Vegas should kick the tires on

OL Jason Poe

The San Francisco 49ers apparently decided that Jason Poe was expendable, likely in the hopes of landing a veteran on the waiver wire. The Raiders could use more depth at the guard positions, so Poe certainly fills that need. He started 10 games at right guard in college last season and has 37 in total for his collegiate career.

Getting someone to back up Lester Cotton Sr. should be a priority for Dave Ziegler. When looking at the O-line objectively, the current depth is a red flag. Everyone knows that McDaniels stresses versatility, but you also need linemen that excel at one position. By all accounts, Poe has potential as a center as well, if versatility is the name of the game.

He’s athletic, though his size is a concern; he’s under six-foot-one and 300 pounds. Nevertheless, he has notable short-area quickness and moves fluid enough to be an asset in pass protection.

A noticeable aspect of Poe’s game is his explosiveness; however, he needs improvement due to his frantic nature when playing. In other words, he’s too reckless, which leads to imbalance, leaving him vulnerable. Be that as it may, he’d be a nice project for Carmen Bricillo.
