Raiders keys to victory against the Chargers in 2022 Week 1

Avoid the big play on defense

The Los Angeles Chargers are a media favorite to make a possible Super Bowl run, so there is no doubt they are going to be tough to beat this season. Quarterback Justin Herbert is one of the best young players in the game at his position, and he has a plethora of weapons to work with on this Chargers offense.

Running back Austin Ekeler is a guy who can hurt you every time he touches the ball, and wide receiver Keenan Allen is still one of the best in the game. Los Angeles also has strong depth in players like Mike Williams and Joshua Palmer, so there is no shortage of options for Herbert in the passing game.

Playing with a revamped secondary, the Raiders have to do their best to minimize the damage against Herbert, as he is going to get his at some point during the game. Avoiding the big play will go a long way in coming away victorious on Sunday afternoon, and possibly making Herbert look as human as possible.
