Las Vegas Raiders at Chargers 2022 Week 1: 3 Bold Predictions
Adams, Renfrow, and Waller each find the endzone
Las Vegas ranked sixth in the NFL last season in passing yards per game (269.4) and yet finished just 18th in points per game (21.8). While the Raiders could move down the field, red zone efficiency was a different story. But heading into 2022 you can wish defenses good luck in trying to account for Davante Adams, Hunter Renfrow, and Darren Waller in the red zone.
The Chargers ranked 27th in opponent red zone scoring percentage (64.18%), illustrating how susceptible they were in keeping opponents out of the end zone. The icing on the cake for Sunday is that cornerback J.C. Jackson is not expected to suit up for Los Angeles. Jackson is still recovering from ankle surgery.
Los Angeles gave up an average of 5.6 yards per play in 2021, which put them below average and 20th in the league. The Raiders should be able to leverage their three-headed receiving attack and combined with the Chargers’ vulnerability in the red zone, we’re predicting that Adams, Renfrow, and Waller each find the endzone on Sunday.
