Raiders at Chargers: Reasons why Las Vegas wins in Week 1

The passing game trio

The trio of Darren Waller, Hunter Renfrow, and Davante Adams will be very difficult to scheme for in general, but in Week 1, the element of a new scheme and how they’ll be utilized, will have the Chargers adjusting on the fly rather than coming into the game with confident game plan. It is clear Las Vegas has excellent options in the passing game, three players who should dominate on Sunday.

Davante Adams will be the X-factor on offense with JC Jackson out, and the Raiders will test the waters early to see how they will be able to attack the secondary. Adams in a new scheme with more weapons to complement him will only make more mismatches, whether that be in the slot or on the outside.

Adams should see many more one on one opportunities than he did in Green Bay thanks to the strong supporting cast he finally has. Renfrow and Waller will help keep all the attention off Adams, giving the passing game may more favorable matchups, and based on their history together, Carr should have no problems knowing when No. 17 wants the ball.
