The Las Vegas Raiders fell short against the LA Chargers in Week 1 of the 2022 season, here are the studs and duds from the loss at So-Fi Stadium

Studs – Davante Adams

The Raiders made one of the splashes of the offseason when they traded for Packers All-Pro receiver Davante Adams that was through by his desire to play with former college teammate Derek Carr. All summer we have been hearing about their special connection on and off the field but we had yet to see it in action in a competitive setting because neither player featured in the preseason.

That connection was on full display on Sunday and despite a couple blips including a deep pass that was intercepted by LA, Adams finished the day with 10 receptions for 141 yards and a touchdown on 17 targets. At times it felt like Carr was forcing the issue to his college buddy but when you go from throwing passes to Zay Jones and Bryan Edwards to one of the best receivers of all time it’s hard not to get too excited.

Hopefully, as the connection continues to blossom, Carr will distribute the ball to his other talented targets but of course, continue going to the well that is Adams. The Chargers’ secondary is deep and talented and Adams made easy work of them so we can’t wait to see what he does against lesser defenses.
