Las Vegas Raiders: Keys to victory against the Cardinals in Week 2

The run game is a focal point

With the run game was pretty much abandoned in Week 1, with only 13 carries to Josh Jacobs and Brandon Bolden. This will have to change to take advantage of a defense that is weak in the run game, as the Chiefs did not run often, but came close to averaging five yards per carry.

McDaniels needs to go back to his New England days and be as effective as possible in mixing the pass and run. McDaniels seemed timid to run the ball against a team that was a bottom-half-run-stopping team last year and needed to be tested to see if that changed, but 13 carries are not enough to tell.

Jacobs had only ten carries for 57 yards for an average of 5.7 a carry, which is impressive to do in the NFL and should not have been turned away to force-feed Adams. The running game has to see 25-30 carries on Sunday for the Cardinals to respect the run and not be able to dictate what coverage they want to show.

Jacobs, Zamir White, and Brandon Bolden should be a big part of the game plan getting the ball going done hill attacking the Cardinal’s weak interior and linebacking core outside of Isaiah Simmons.
