Raiders vs Cardinals 2022 Week 2: Studs and Duds

Stud – First Half Derek Carr

This was shaping up to be a career day for Derek Carr in the first half as he was an excellent 18-24 for 210 yards and 2 touchdowns. Carr was everything he was supposed to be in this offense; crisp, efficient, dynamic, and accurate as he marched the Raiders up and down the field for 20 points in the first two quarters.

Carr extended plays with his legs and found 8 different receivers as he carved up the Arizona defense with strikes all over the field. He hit his two best targets in the end zone with a nicely designed play to Davante Adams and a nice jump ball to Darren Waller in the corner for his second touchdown of the game.

As good as Carr was in the first half of the game, he was horrendous in the second half and we will get more into that a bit later. For now, let’s savor the memory of the first half when the Raiders looked to be cruising to an easy win and Carr was on fire.
