Raiders vs Cardinals 2022 Week 2: Studs and Duds

Dud – Second Half Derek Carr

Derek Carr’s second half was one for the ages but not in a good way. After an excellent first half, Carr was a horrible 7-15 for 42 yards and a couple near interceptions in the second half as the wheels fell off the Raiders’ offense.

Perhaps it was the long layoff between possessions, but Carr looked off balance and inaccurate in the second half and couldn’t find his $100 million receiver to close out the game. The Raiders went out and traded for Davante Adams to be able to lean on him and somehow, he had no catches in the second half and was targeted just three times through overtime.

Carr was already under a ton of pressure after a three-interception game against LA in Week 1 and he was well on his way to quieting the haters down for at least one more week in the first half but things fell apart after halftime. Now he has even more pressure than ever before as he will need a big bounce-back performance in Week 3 on the road in Tennessee. It will take something drastic before he loses his job but if things continue as they are there is a great chance he won’t be in Las Vegas in 2023.
