Las Vegas Raiders at Titans 2022 Week 3: Bold Predictions
The Raiders finish with over 150 rushing yards
Las Vegas ranks 30th in rushing yards per game with an average of 72.0. Granted, the suspect offensive line did not necessarily guarantee an efficient running game heading into the season, but much of the Raiders’ lack of a ground game has been due to the limited carries given to the backfield. The passing game only works if the defense has to respect the ground game as well.
In addition to being ranked 30th in rushing yards per game, the Raiders also rank second-to-last in rushing attempts per game with an average of 17.0. In Week 1 Josh Jacobs averaged an impressive 5.7 yards per carry against the Chargers, but he saw only 10 carries all afternoon. If it’s durability for Jacobs that has Josh McDaniels worried, then he should lean into the committee approach like his days in New England.
Two weeks of football are in the books and the Raiders are staring at an 0-2 record, so McDaniels should be ready to shake things up to some extent against the Titans. We’re predicting the ground game plays a pivotal role on Sunday, with the backfield collectively finishing with over 150 yards on the afternoon.
