The Raiders offense still looks to be in quicksand through three weeks, as they can’t get enough going on that side of the ball. Josh McDaniels is inconsistent in his play calling, and situational management late in games is costing the team. The Raiders continue to beat themselves with penalties, and dropped passes kept them from moving the ball consistently.

All the hype has not come to fruition, as the offense still looks lost through three games. Josh McDaniels, in his second stint as head coach, has really struggled to find his identity, and it has cost the Raiders at least two victories in the early going.

So what does it all mean? Here, we look at some things we learned in what was another frustrating loss for the Silver and Black.

No. 1: Carr and Adams not connecting

There was optimism heading into the season with former college teammates and good friends Derek Carr and Davante Adams linking back up. And while it looked good on paper, and dominant in Week 1, the connection has been off the last two weeks.

The chemistry is there, that is no doubt, but when it comes to the production, something is missing. In Week 3, Adams had only five catches for 36 yards, and his stat line was similar in Week 2, though he does have a touchdown in both games.

There is no doubt that this connection is going to start rolling, and Carr has found his good buddy for touchdowns in all three games this season. If they start clicking, especially with the emergence of Mack Hollins, this passing attack could be unstoppable.
