Las Vegas Raiders vs Tennessee Titans 2022 Week 3: Studs and Duds
Stud – Derek Carr
After two subpar games, the first half against Arizona notwithstanding, Derek Carr came out firing against a Tennessee defense that was missing some of its best players. He was making plays all over the field, extending plays with his legs, and even recorded two first downs with improvised scrambles which is something fans have been calling for.
Carr led the Raiders on five scoring drives which should have been enough to win the game but this time his targets let him down on multiple occasions. Darren Waller was the chief offender with three notable drops including a deep ball and two potential touchdowns in key situations that would have made this a runaway victory for the Raiders.
Instead, these drops doomed the Raiders to either punting it away at the end of the first half or kicking field goals when touchdowns would have decided the game in their favor. Despite these drops, Carr finished the game with two touchdowns and over 300 yards passing but they weren’t enough to win the game. The veteran QB has been far from perfect this year but he was excellent on Sunday and deserved more help from his targets.
