Las Vegas Raiders vs Tennessee Titans 2022 Week 3: Studs and Duds

Dud – First half defense

It has been a tale of two halves for this Raiders defense as they appear unable to play a complete game this season. In Week 1 they gave up 17 points in the first half to the Chargers then just 7 in the second. Against Arizona in Week 2, they shut out the Cardinals in the first half but gave up 23 points in the second half to send the game to overtime.

It was the same story in Tennessee as they gave up 24 points and let Derrick Henry run roughshod in the first half but shut out the Titans in the second half. Clearly, they are doing some things right and tightening up at times but why can’t they do it for the full 60 minutes? We do not expect them to shut out every team they play but there are times when they look incompetent and others look unstoppable.

They get another test against a mobile QB in week 4 with Russell Wilson coming to town though the Broncos offense is having its own issues. They have a chance to silence some of the critics with a dominant performance at home but they will need to do it for the entire game and not just the first or second half.
