After three weeks are the Raiders really the worst team in the AFC West?
Once again, the Los Angeles Chargers are the league’s most snake-bitten teams. Easily one of the most talented rosters in the NFL, they cannot seem to escape the injury bug. Notably, Justin Herbert, Joey Bosa, Rashawn Slater, and J.C. Jackson are all dealing with injuries. Somehow, this always seems to happen to the Chargers.
Despite the injury to his ribs, quarterback Justin Herbert would play on Sunday against the Jaguars. With 297 yards, one touchdown, and one interception, he was not at quite the same MVP level that most expect from him. Still, he is one of the most physically gifted quarterbacks we have ever seen. As long as he is on the field, Los Angeles will have a chance.
When it comes to their pass rush, Bosa will be a massive loss. Arguably the best pass rusher in the NFL when healthy, he and Khalil Mack combine to create possibly the best duo in the league. Now, it will be up to Mack to carry the weight. Alas, it is the injury to Slater that has the potential to derail the team’s entire season. Simply, the team doesn’t have any depth on the offensive line.
Still, the Chargers are talented enough to win the division outright. On top of that, they have already beaten the Raiders in week one. While the loss last week to the Jaguars was an ugly one, they are likely to rebound in a big way going forward. They are just too loaded not too.
