Las Vegas Raiders vs Broncos 2022 Week 4: Bold Predictions

Josh Jacobs scores 2 rushing touchdowns

The Raiders rank dead last in rushing attempts per game (17.7) and 28th in rushing yards per game (80.0), all the while being the lone NFL team without a win so far. It’s not rocket science to say that the offensive strategy has to change, or at the very least McDaniels must not stray away from the run game entirely. Josh Jacobs, despite the limited number of opportunities on the ground, has been solid with an average of 4.6 yards per attempt through three weeks.

Even though the run game may not be the Raiders’ best strength behind a makeshift offensive line, McDaniels has to at least lean into the ground game when in the red zone. Jacobs has zero rushing touchdowns so far this season and all the while Las Vegas ranks 26th in red zone scoring percentage (46.15%). Settling for field goals could be avoided if the Raiders opted to hand the ball off in the red zone from time to time.

Much like Carr and Adams have heard the chatter through the week, McDaniels has to hear the criticisms surrounding play-calling as well. If anything, he should be more open to running the ball when in the red zone, which could set Jacobs up for a big day in Week 4. We’re predicting Jacobs not only gets his first rushing touchdown of the season but adds another one for good measure.
