Las Vegas Raiders vs Denver Broncos 2022 Week 4: Studs and Duds
Stud – Josh Jacobs
Josh Jacobs was an absolute monster on Sunday for a team that has been desperately looking for a spark. The stud running back rushed 28 times for 144 yards and two touchdowns and added 5 catches for 31 yards to his stat line. He was the heartbeat of the offense and when push came to shove he was there to close out the game.
The 144 yards and 33 touches are a career-high for Jacobs and show that this coaching staff knows how talented he is when given enough opportunities. Jacobs has improved significantly as a pass catcher and his combination of elusiveness and power makes him a danger to break off a big run on any play. What he lacks in elite top-end speed he makes up for with incredible vision and balance.
There were two incredible runs from Jacobs that set the tone for the offense but the best was late in the third quarter when he went over 100 yards. Jacobs looked to be stopped for a 3-4 yard gain but broke out of the crowd and burst out of the pack for a 40-yard scamper that eventually set up a Daniel Carlson field goal. Jacobs started his career with a two-touchdown game against the Broncos and he seems to shine every time he takes the field against the division rival.
