Las Vegas Raiders vs Denver Broncos 2022 Week 4: Studs and Duds
Stud – Derek Carr
After catching a ton of heat last week for “ignoring” Davante Adams and not making enough plays to win the game, Derek Carr flipped that criticism on its head with a solid game against a great defense. Carr targeted Adams 13 times for 9 catches and 101 yards and there were a few other opportunities where Adams was clearly held by Patrick Surtain II that were ignored by the officials. Adams also gets an honorable mention for his performance but a touchdown would have put him over the top.
The other numbers don’t look pretty for Carr as he was 21-34 for 188 yards and no touchdowns but as the saying goes he did just enough for the Raiders to win. Carr used his legs in a major way, rushing for 41 yards and accounting for 5 first downs on the ground.
This is a part of his game that Raider Nation has been clamoring to see more of especially considering the athleticism he possesses but it was just the fourth time in his career that Carr has rushed for more than 40 yards. Some of his reluctance may come from just wanting to see the play develop before making a decision but if he can do this more often it adds yet another weapon to a potentially dangerous offense.
