The Las Vegas Raiders head to Kansas City to take on the Chiefs in Week 5 of the 2022 NFL season, and here are some reasonable expectations.

In Week 5 of the 2022 NFL season, the Las Vegas Raiders will travel to Kansas City to take on the Chiefs in an AFC West battle in primetime. This will be the last game for the Silver and Black before their bye week, and coming off a strong victory against Denver in Week 4, they are looking to keep the momentum going.

Here, we look at some expectations that are realistic as Las Vegas invades Arrowhead Monday night.

Reasonable expectations for the Raiders in 2022 Week 5 vs Kansas City

Raiders will run with effectiveness

Last weekend, we saw a great effort from Josh Jacobs, as he ran all over the Denver Broncos’ defense. In Week 5, the Raiders will look to establish the run game early and often, and against this Chiefs defense, they should be able to find the running lanes needed to stay effective on the ground.

Jacobs appears to be playing with a chip on his shoulder, and rightfully so, as he wants to prove to the organization that he is a part of the long-term solution in Las Vegas. He currently is No. 5 in the NFL in rushing, and another big game on Sunday could land him at No. 1.

Davante Adams will show why he is elite

When it comes to Davante Adams, he is not a guy who is going to be stopped, no matter what the defense throws at you. In Week 4 against Denver, he proved that in the biggest of moments, he is going to step up, and that should be the case in primetime against Kansas City on Monday night.

Adams has played in some big games in his career and has never shied away from the bright lights before. Against this Chiefs secondary, I believe he could have his best game in the Silver and Black, and that could lead to an upset victory on the road for Las Vegas.

Maxx Crosby will get to Patrick Mahomes

After getting his new contract, and having stability on and off the field, Maxx Crosby has taken his game to another level this season. Sure, that is hard to say, as he was already one of the premier defensive players in the NFL, but he is downright unblockable right now coming off the edge.

Kansas City is going to throw the kitchen sink at the Raiders to stop Crosby, but it will be to no avail. Crosby is going to get to Patrick Mahomes on Monday night, the only question is going to be how many times.

Las Vegas will cover the spread

Going into Arrowhead and winning a football game is not an easy task for any team, let alone a divisional rival. The Raiders did have success there a few years back when Jon Gruden did a victory lap around the stadium afterward, but this is a new regime with new expectations.

The Raiders are way more talented than their 1-3 record shows, and I believe they will prove that to the rest of the country on Monday night. They are going to cover the spread, and based on the history between these two franchises, it would not be shocking if they came away with the victory.
