Raiders at Chiefs 2022 Week 5: 3 Raiders to watch Monday night
Maxx Crosby is having one heck of a season so far. Going into their showdown with the Chiefs on Monday Night, he leads the league in tackles for loss, leads all defensive ends in total tackles, and is top-5 in sacks. To say he is having an All-Pro season thus far is an understatement.
He made it apparent how dominant he could be last week, amassing 4 total tackles, all for loss, and getting 2 sacks against Russell Wilson. Regardless of whether he was double-teamed or not, the Condor was disrupting almost every play and dominating every player he went up against.
As previously mentioned, the best way to defend Patrick Mahomes is to keep him off the field. When he is on the field, pressuring him to keep him off his timing is the next best thing. We haven’t seen much from Chandler Jones this season, which makes Crosby’s dominance even more impressive. With how much attention Maxx will be receiving, this would undoubtedly be the best time for a coming out party for Jones.
Regardless of what transpires on Monday Night with the rest of the defensive line, there is no denying that Maxx Crosby is going to cause issues and be a nuisance for this Chiefs offensive line who have seen two of their starters pop up on the injury report this week. If Crosby can continue his elite play from last week on Monday Night, this Raiders defense may very well be able to compete with this Chiefs offense better than they ever have before.
