Raiders at Chiefs 2022 Week 5: 3 Raiders to watch Monday night

Davante Adams

The Raiders’ biggest acquisition this offseason has shown thus far why he’s considered one of the best wide receivers in the league. If he isn’t putting up double-digit receiving yards, he’s scoring touchdowns. Opposing teams have bracketed him with a safety over the top on nearly 100% of his snaps, hoping that they can contain the Raiders’ other weapons on the field.

Last week marked the first time this season that he hasn’t gotten in the endzone, though he did haul in 9 receptions for 101 yards. Week 2 against the Cardinals was the only time this year that he didn’t have double-digit targets from his quarterback and best friend Derek Carr.

The Raiders are getting slot receiver, Hunter Renfrow, back from concussion protocol. Even though Darren Waller was seen with a red no-contact jersey this week, he seems to be looking better regarding his shoulder injury as he was able to shed the red during Friday’s practice.

When the Raiders play the Chiefs, it always feels like they are going to have to keep up in a touchdown-for-touchdown shootout type of game. The Raiders have too much talent on the field to not be able to do so and it all starts with number 17. If he can get going early, keep these Chiefs’ defensive backs on their toes, and be a force in the red zone that we’ve seen flashes of, there’s no doubt in my mind that we can go toe to toe with one of the AFC’s most dominate offenses.
