Las Vegas Raiders vs Kansas City Chiefs 2022 Week 5: Studs and Duds

Stud – Josh Jacobs

Just a week after putting up career highs in rushing yards with 144 and scrimmage yards with 175, Josh Jacobs did it again against a tough defense with 154 rushing yards on just 21 carries and 193 scrimmage yards. Jacobs was the best player on the field for the Raiders as he tore through the Chiefs’ defense with ease.

The young running back was made the focal point of the offense after the embarrassing defeat to the Arizona Cardinals and the Raiders’ inability to control the game and he has responded with career-best performances. Penalties took Jacobs out of the game a bit in the third quarter as the Raiders could not rely on the run quite as much but when it was money time he responded with big run after big run to keep drives alive and set up scoring opportunities.

If the Raiders are to get their season back on track they will need to establish a true offensive identity and building one around Jacobs and the run game is a good start. He nearly powered them to a big win against KC and can do the same, especially against the lesser opponents coming up after the bye week.
