Five Reasons Why The Las Vegas Raiders Are Not Dead Yet

The Raiders have two of the league’s best players on offense

Given that the Raiders (currently) hold the number one pick in the 2023 draft, one would assume that this roster is devoid of talent. Through the first five weeks of the season, that couldn’t be further from the case. Las Vegas is among the top teams in scoring, and they have two league leaders to thank for their ranking.

The Raiders average 25.0 PPG, which is the eighth-best in the NFL. It’s a testament to their ability to throw the ball downfield, while simultaneously running the ball through their opponents. Josh Jacobs is currently third in rushing with 490 yards to date. Davante Adams’ 414 receiving yards ranks eighth among all receivers.

When you have two players like Jacobs and Adams among the league leaders in their respective categories, the law of averages will eventually play out.

Las Vegas roster isn’t devoid of talent, and they haven’t been short of putting the points on the board either. The task at hand is getting the job done from start to finish, and it’s clearly a tall task in itself. But having two players like Jacobs and Adams consistently performing at or above the league’s best gives hope that the pieces will eventually fall into place, sooner rather than later.
