Las Vegas Raiders: Young defensive stars have future looking bright

Hobbs and Co. in the Secondary

Last season, Nate Hobbs went from a Day 3 draft pick to a starter for the Raiders, and since then, he has taken another step forward. Hobbs is a legitimate player for this Raiders secondary, as he is currently second in tackles, has made a ton of big plays this season, and at only 23 years old, is only going to get better.

One worrisome player this season has been Trevon Moehrig, who has struggled in Year 2 after a strong rookie campaign in 2021. Based on talent, he should be fine and is being aided by the fact that veterans Amik Robertson and Johnathan Abram are both having their best seasons as pros this year.

Robertson is only 24, and Abram is only 26, so they have a lot of football left in them as well.

Las Vegas Raiders have a chance to go on a run after the bye week

The Las Vegas Raiders may look dead in the water at 1-4, but after the bye week, the schedule is lined up for them to make a serious run.

Rock Ya-Sin is only 26 years old too, but he has struggled in his first season with Las Vegas to stay on the field. Still, this is a secondary with plenty of playmakers under 27 years old, and if they continue to develop, an area that was a long-term weakness could turn into a long-term strength for the Silver and Black.
