Las Vegas Raiders: Time to start playing up to their talent level
By Brad Weiss
The Las Vegas Raiders have only one win in their first five tries, as they have sometimes played down to their competition and let some key games get away.
It has been a disappointing start to the 2022 NFL season for the Las Vegas Raiders, as they have won only one game in their first five tries. The last loss, a 30-29 defeat at the hands of the Kansas City Chiefs, was a game that saw the Silver and Black get out to a big lead, only to squander it in the second half.
That was the case against the Arizona Cardinals as well, as the Raiders had a 20-0 halftime lead, only to lose in overtime. When you add losses to the Los Angeles Chargers and Tennessee Titans into the mix, games they should have won, it is easy to see this team is much better than their record would indicate.
As the Silver and Black move forward after the bye week, there are many winnable games on the docket, though they will have to start playing up to their talent level to get this season turned around.
Raiders need to start winning when it counts
With a few games given away, and a few losses to tough competition, the Raiders have been a roller coaster of a team this season. Looking ahead to Week 7, the Silver and Black have a favorable matchup against the Houston Texans, another one-win team that the Raiders should handily beat at home.
However, as we have seen with this team this season, nothing is guaranteed, as they can look so bad against Arizona, and then play Kansas City down to the wire. The truth is, they have as much talent on both sides of the ball as most teams in the conference, but it is time for them to start getting the job done when it matters.
The toughest win is the next one, and for Las Vegas, getting back into the win column is priority No. 1. They have looked past teams in the past, and it has come back to haunt them, so for the rest of the way, take it one game at a time, start stacking wins and get back into the playoff picture.
