Las Vegas Raiders: Potential trade targets before the 2022 NFL Trade Deadline
Derrick Brown, DT, Carolina Panthers
There’s no doubt that the Raiders are all set at the defensive end position. Even with Chandler Jones having zero sacks this year, the pair of he and Maxx Crosby has only gotten better each week. However, the interior of the defensive line can still use some work.
The group already has good run-stoppers, such as Bilal Nichols and Clelin Ferrel. The team could still use a defensive tackle that can put some pressure on the quarterback, though. Derrick Brown, while not recording a full sack on the season, can constantly penetrate the interior of the offensive line.
He can still play the run too, as his strength and big frame allow him to clog up running lanes. Currently, he’s the tenth-highest-graded player in the NFL with a PFF grade of 89.9.
Brown is making roughly six million dollars per year, and he has one year remaining on that rookie contract. That’s a great way to see if he can be a long-term piece of the team. The price for Brown may be high, but if Zeigler can swing a deal with the collapsing Carolina panthers, then they should try to make it happen.
