With the trade deadline rapidly approaching, it is time for every team to take a look at the state of their roster. For the Raiders, these three players could find themselves on the block.

The Las Vegas Raiders have gotten out to a 1-4 start to the 2022 season, and there are some key players who could be on the trading block as they look to make some moves to fix their issues. Here we look at three former high draft picks whose days could be numbered in Las Vegas.

We start with No. 1.

. Johnathan Abram. 1. player. 28. .

A first-round selection of Jon Gruden in 2019, Abram was supposed to finally fill the Raiders’ hole at safety. A hard-hitting safety from Mississippi State, it was well-known that he would have a learning curve when he entered the NFL in pass coverage. Unfortunately, he would miss almost the entirety of his rookie season with a shoulder injury.

Since then, he has not lived up to expectations. Routinely one of the lowest-rated safeties in the NFL, he has not ever shown the ability to cover at the NFL level. Furthermore, his reckless play style has led to miscues in the run game and created more injuries. To this point, he has not played a full season.

So far in 2022, he has 32 tackles, one pass defended, and two QB hits under new defensive coordinator Patrick Graham. Most encouraging for Abram however is his usage rate as he has played 94% of the snaps thus far.

If traded by the Raiders, he would likely only fetch a day-three selection. Despite his status as a draft bust, NFL teams have always been willing to give first-round picks a second chance. If the Raiders head into the deadline with a few more losses, they could elect to trade Abram despite his status as a defensive starter.
