Las Vegas Raiders vs Houston 2022 Week 7: Texans to Worry About

Rex Burkhead

Pierce may be in control of carries in the backfield, but Rex Burkhead still commands an adequate number of targets. His best performance came in Week 4 when he hauled in all five of his targets for 39 yards and a touchdown. While the numbers may not jump off the page at first glance, it’s the type of production that can keep Houston within reach when they have no business doing so.

Las Vegas has proven to be more susceptible against the pass, and using Burkhead out of the backfield could give the Raiders’ linebackers some trouble. He’s the exact type of under-the-radar threat that can make defenses pay out of nowhere.

Given their record and the hole they must climb out of, Houston is an opponent that the Raiders should and must beat on Sunday. That means accounting for every and any threat from Houston on offense, and Burkhead is the type of player that Las Vegas must keep out of an impactful role.
