5. Derek Carr is quietly finding his groove under Josh McDaniels

Lost in all the praise for Jacobs and the consistent dominance of Davante Adams has been Derek Carr. Jacobs has taken a lot of pressure off of the passing game with his dominant run, but that doesn’t mean No. 4 isn’t doing his thing.

Each week, Carr’s completion percentage remains nice and steady; against the Texans, Carr completed 77.7 percent of his passes. The pass protection has gotten better each game, but back in Week 1, Carr was sacked five times. Since then, the total has been five in the last three contests alone. If you keep Carr upright, good things will happen.

Though he’s yet to eclipse more than 26 passing attempts in a game, you know he’ll be ready when that time comes.
