Las Vegas Raiders X-Factors against the Saints in 2022 Week 8

Don’t overlook Dalton

Las Vegas drew the Red Rifle for their matchup against the Saints, but history has not been kind to the Silver and Black when they have faced Andy Dalton. The veteran signal-caller is 3-0 in his career against the Raiders, throwing for 487 yards with five touchdowns and no interceptions for a combined passer rating of 112.8.

Sure, Dalton’s career has evolved into a prototypical backup, but let’s not forget how Las Vegas’ defense fared last week against a subpar pocket passer.

Davis Mills notched his first 300-yard passing game of the season when going up against the Raiders’ defense, and he arguably carved them up through the first three quarters. Mills had two touchdowns with one key interception in the closing moments to finish with a 95.8 passer rating.

Dalton posing a threat to the Raiders may seem mind-boggling at first, but in reality, it is a statement on how porous Las Vegas’ defense has been up to this point. On the road in a hostile environment, Las Vegas cannot afford to overlook anybody given the state of their season right now.
