Reasonable expectations for the Las Vegas Raiders in 2022 Week 9

Derek Carr plays better

This one is a bit obvious, as there is no way Derek Carr can play worse than last weekend right? He looked scared and confused in the pocket, something that should not happen in a quarterback’s ninth year at the helm of a franchise, finishing with 101 yards passing.

Carr had been playing solid football up until the Saints game, and on Sunday, I expect him to return to the form we saw against Houston and Kansas City, where he threw for three touchdowns and zero interceptions combined. He will be facing a tough pass rush in this one, so hopefully, he can play better against the rush.

Hunter Renfrow shows up

Hunter Renfrow has had a down season in 2022, but this is the game I believe he gets his season back on track. With Darren Waller possibly out again, and teams focused on shutting down Davante Adams, Las Vegas needs Renfrow to go back to being a constant in this offense, much like he was during his 100-catch season in 2021.

Renfrow is considered one of the best slot guys in the NFL, and McDaniels had a lot of success from the slot in New England. Maybe it is time to draw up some plays for No. 13?
